Akanksha Sojitra

Akanksha has dedicated her career to outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine for the last 11 years. She specializes in complex spine issues, chronic headaches, TMJ pain, and concussions and is committed to providing holistic care.

Akanksha is a recognized Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist (FAAOMPT). She is an American Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy (OCS). She is also a clinical Orthopedic residency and Fellowship Instructor with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). She also serves as an Education Committee Chair for Golden Gate district with CPTA, a role that reflects her strong passion and commitment to advancing education within the profession.

She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy at Gujarat University in India and her Master of Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Texas A&M University, specifically focusing on cardiovascular disease risk assessment. She has undergone advanced training in manual therapy (CMPT and COMT) with NAIOMT to effectively treat complex patient problems. She has additionally taken a wide array of courses from Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor, selective functional movement assessment (SFMA), and was trained in sports medicine for Shoulder rehab, Running analysis, ACL rehab, and Concussion rehab with MedStar Sports Medicine and was a part of MedStar Tennis program development for Citi Open.

In her spare time, she enjoys badminton, rowing, painting, and spending time with family and friends.
